Tour de France 2016: Top Banana stage 4

The team that caught our eye today was Lotto-Soudal, visible on the front for lengthy chunks of the stage. Big man Lars Bak deserves credit for taking the point-man position, when a lesser man may not have started this Tour at all.
The Dane crashed out of the Giro on the last day, suffering multiple fractures and a punctured lung. He rode his heart out for André Greipel and at least helped make the longest stage of the race go a little faster.
For his perseverance and warrior spirit, Rouleur proudly awards today’s Top Banana award to this valiant Viking.
Rouleur’s Top Banana is awarded after every 2016 Tour de France stage. It goes to an unsung hero who has caught the eye or deserves recognition for his efforts, rather than necessarily the stage winner or the most attacking rider.
